Although clothing chain Uniqlo has done its level best to bring grunge back via it's cheap range of plaid shirts, a suitable alternative/grungey soundtrack has been lacking. Step forward Yuck - they peddle a heartfelt, yearning fuzzy guitar kind of business which sounds like it could have been recorded in 1992. I'm totally addicted to it...
It's reminiscent of Pavement and the sort of business they were pushing. When I was 14 and yet to discover the joys of both lager and nicotine, this was the shit I'd get off on. Cowering in my bedroom away from the frontroom and the weekly Generation Game viewing and listening to twee guitar music dreaming about escaping Rochdale. Great times...
