It's our party (and we'll cry if we want to)


This Friday it's our jump off. Kiss the Fist is going down at Tipsy, a newish basement den on Kingsland Road. There'll be thrills, there'll be spills and some top slabs of music laid down for anyone brave enough to come drink with us. If you ain't been before, then here's a selection of the sort of tackle you can expect to be exposed to... Dig in and see you on the floor...

Despacio is happiness

We went to check Despacio at the Roundhouse back in March on a Friday night and as good as it was, it wasn't the definitive clubbing experience promised by the £30 price tag. Or the hype.

For much of the night, it was some old slightly old dudes playing occasionally inferior, yet slightly more obscure versions of balearic classics. Yet, when it did hit lift off, the peaks were pretty epic and rolling. This wicked mix of the evening has emerged and arguably sounds better than the night itself... Crank it right up...

Birthdays at the Company Shed


Birthdays should never be spent at work and always made to last for as long as possible. After a weekend and Monday night booze up, Kathy's involved a Tuesday day off, a train ride to Colchester to ace seafood joint, The Company Shed and a some pints in the sunshine. Balearic times in Essex...
